WHAT MAKES CAPSTONE DIFFERENT?

• YOUR OWN AESTHETIC EXPERIENCE:  We don’t expect you to “follow the umbrella” or “gather round the tour guide” when you get to sites.  Rather, we’ll provide slideshows with commentary prior to sightseeing days. Armed with information, you will be free to explore and have your own aesthetic and spiritual experience. 

• A SPIRITUAL PILGRIMAGE: We hope this trip will be a pilgrimage. The focus is on the history of ideas as expressed in art and architecture.

• MONASTERIES AND SMALL, QUAINT HOTELS: Wherever possible, our guests stay in monasteries [all with private bathrooms].  The accommodations we have chosen are well-located – within walking distance of the most important sites.  Whether a monastery or small family-owned hotel, all are comfortable, quaint and interesting. 
 

• A FLEXIBLE, PERSONALIZED ITINERARY: Although we have established an itinerary for each day, we know everyone has different priorities.  If you would prefer to spend the day shopping, or just relaxing at the monastery – we will ensure you can spend your time as you wish.  

• FEASTS:  One of the best things about Europe is the food. Spaniards and Italians are proud of their cuisine. Each tour features a number of multi-course feasts specially developed by the chefs to showcase fresh local cuisine typical of the region.

• A “HANDS-FREE” TOUR:  You can leave your camera at home.  We have a photographer on board who will take pictures throughout the trip.  Good pictures are guaranteed.
